- In order to make
significant
contributions to home
health care for the
middle class and below,
quality and affordable
services need to be
taken to homes of the
needy. This is done
through
> Direct Home Service
(DHS)
> Family Medical
Service (FMS)
- For addressing the
most important need in
the DHS, the home
nursing area has been
identified as priority.
- The promotion of ‘Shraddha’(meaning
‘care’), a home nursing
unit has been an effort
materializing through
the identified goal of
nurturing Social
Entrepreneurship. The
motto of 'Shraddha' is
'Respect for Life'
- The twin objectives
of keeping the costs to
the patients low and
compensating the Nurses
well for their services,
can be achieved
optimally only through the
non commercial
objectives of social
entrepreneurship like
Shraddha.
- All the education
and empowering schemes
discussed above amply
support the other end of
the spectrum, which is
the home health care,
through bringing in
quality into service.
- Shraddha now has
several qualified nurses
who have gone through
diploma courses and the
training by Indian Red
Cross Society, TN
branch. A number of
these nurses have been
assisted by Brthya to go
through their education.
- Such a comprehensive
scheme from Education to
Health can only be
sustained through the
non-commercial goals of
the social sector.
